Ms. Evoy
Theatre Arts Magnet Teacher
Director of Thespians
Ms. Evoy started her love of theatre as part of Coconut Grove Children’s Theatre. She was South Miami Senior High School’s Thespian President where she earned Best Actress in Miami Dade County, at district festival in 1986. She was also her school's nominee for Silver Knight in 1987. Ms. Evoy graduated from Syracuse University in theatre. She worked as a stage manager in Chicago, IL. Ms. Evoy has always liked helping others using the arts and has done that with unwed mothers in Boston while getting her MA in Expressive Arts Therapy. She used the arts to work with foster children in Chicago, and went to the Peace Corps in Quito, Ecuador and used theatre to help provide arts programs to kids in extreme poverty on the Southside of Quito. Ms. Evoy was offered a position to teach at an Elementary Magnet in Miami Dade County. She performed in plays at MDC, and at Shakespeare in the Park in Coconut Grove. She moved over to Southwood Middle School with her own children, and now that they are older, was offered the position as Drama teacher at Robert Morgan Senio High (RMSH) and Director of Thespians.
